Entertainment Weekly revealed new plot details and a slew of cast additions for Disney’s Hocus Pocus 2, and I couldn’t be more excited for the Hocus Pocus sequel if I tried!
According to EW, Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mary (Kathy Najimy), a.k.a. the Sanderson sisters, return to Salem 29 years after Max (Omri Katz) lights the Black Flame Candle. Now, the bewitching trio seeks vengeance, and it’s up to three high school students to stop them before the witches run amok.

So, who will stare down the faces of three child-obsessed enchantresses?
Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham and Belissa Escobedo portray Becca, Cassie and Izzy, respectively.
But that’s not all! Doug Jones reprises his role as Billy Butcherson, Winifred’s ex-boyfriend from back in the day. Billy helps Max and his crew eradicate the Sanderson sisters’ spell.
Rounding out the cast is Hannah Waddingham, Sam Richardson, Tony Hale, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Paige Henderson and Nina Kitchen. Jen D’Angelo pens the script while Anne Fletcher helms the flick as the director.

Fans around the world have embraced these characters and have made this film a Halloween tradition whose popularity continues to grow, and how lucky am I to be back at Disney with these three extraordinarily talented ladies in the iconic roles they created, as well as our fabulous new additions to the cast?
I’m so ready to return to the world of the Sanderson sisters, and I’m curious to see how Becca, Cassie and Izzy inadvertently revive them. Could it be courtesy of the Black Flame Candle or Winifred’s Manual of Witchcraft and Alchemy?
Hocus Pocus 2 officially began filming in Rhode Island, so prepare to fall under the Sanderson sisters’ spell when the sequel hits Disney Plus in the fall of 2022.
