Agent 47 is at it again in another thrilling Hitman game: Hitman 3. IO Interactive finally released their launch trailer for the game almost directly before its release. After Square Enix decided to part ways with IO Interactive, players were uncertain of its future. IO Interactive decided to partner with Warner Bros Games to release Hitman 2 and Hitman: Definitive Edition and it was assumed they would continue to help publish. But on June 25th, 2020, IO Interactive announced they would self-publish the game without the aid of WB Games. This trailer proves that the Hitman franchise is still alive and well.

The trailer features impressively dark visuals, beautifully choreographed gameplay, and suspenseful slow-motion scenes fitting for the franchise’s darkest Hitman game. The music to the trailer, “Lose Yourself in Me”, is an unreleased Mindy Jones cover of “Champions of the Wild Side” by Bjarke Niemann and greatly adds to the moodiness of the game trailer.

Hitman 3 will be featured on nearly all consoles: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Stadia, Nintendo Switch,  and PC. Players who purchase Hitman 3 on the PS4/Xbox One will be given a free game upgrade for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X. Standard and Deluxe editions of the game are available and players will be able to take their levels, rank and unlocks with them into the new game as long as they are all on the same platform. The game will be anywhere between 60 to 70 GB on all platforms, except for the Switch and Stadia. Hitman 3 will be available via cloud play for the Switch.

A unique part about Hitman 3‘s release is that it will also be playable on PS VR. This gives it an entirely immersive feel not yet experienced in the last two Hitman games. Long-time fans will finally be able to take on the role of Agent 47 without viewing him from a third-person perspective. Players will be able to crouch to achieve cover status and use their own movement to prepare and execute a killer move.

Like Cyberpunk 2077, players can pre-purchase and pre-load the game before it officially releases. Get ready to be thrown into the world of Agent 47 on Jan 20, 2021. Just remember, “There’s a bullet for everyone.”
