When it comes to Justice League, there’s two big mysteries. What is Superman‘s role and will we see Green Lantern? Recently, Henry Cavill sat down and answered the press’s questions regarding the film. Or did he? While he doesn’t say much, we definitely learned more about his role in the film.

While Cavill danced around every question he could, sometimes he gleaned some information. When speaking to WSVN-TV, he didn’t answer how many scenes he had the mustache while filming. Scenes is the key word there, meaning we’ll get more than a quick appearance. When asked about the black suit he posted on Instagram, he got his dancing shoes on and dodged every question about it, essentially parroting the interviewer. He even tried to wave it off as an impossible buttfie (butt selfie), but come on, we can see the S right there! So while Cavill teases us, the black suit is real and we’re going to see it.

When talking to E!News, he even tried to dodge his role in the film, saying he’s merely represented as an ideal. He also said something brilliant about Superman that I feel needs to be read.

We feel the loss of that character in this movie because he’s not present anymore. And the example he set by just being is made all the stronger because of his lack of presence. And it’s always an honor to be a part of that and to highlight the true superpowers of Superman.

It’s a wonderful quote, reminding us that Superman stands for and represents hope. So when he’s gone – what does that mean for the rest of the characters? The interviewer, instead of getting the hint that he can’t talk about it, continued by saying he spends a lot of time in the film being shirtless. Though, again, Cavill dodged it and instead talked about training for the film.

As nice of an attempt that was, we still learned from that interviewer that Superman is coming and will be…shirtless. Listen, I said we learned a little bit about his role, this counts! I’m kidding but it is an interesting point to bring up. Why would he be shirtless? I assume he wasn’t buried naked, so what happened to his burial clothes? We’ll have to see what he does with them in 10 days.

What do you think of his comments? Let us know! R eally it’s just nice to see Henry Cavill out for press, given we’ve seen so little of him in the marketing. Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more Superman news. Justice League teams up in theaters on November 17th.
