Back when Zack Snyder was creating his vision for Man of Steel, they didn’t make a suit yet. However, they were still screen testing actors for the role as the big boy scout in blue. While they didn’t have their own suit yet, there was one suit available to them – Christopher Reeve‘s iconic suit.
Snyder had previously stated this but we now have visual proof. Shared on his Vero account, Snyder shared the image of Henry Cavill wearing the suit. “First test with Henry… I knew right away he was my Superman,” he captioned the photo. It’s hard to pull off that suit, especially now. It’s very dated and really only suits one man. However, Cavill fits into it pretty well. And while Cavill’s Superman is much less a boy scout and more of a sad sack, he definitely looks like Superman.
