This August will mark the 50th anniversary of the terrifying Manson Family’s murder spree. Where under the control of Charles Manson, a deranged man who was convinced he was Jesus Christ, the cult killed ten people in the summer of 1969. The most brutal of the crimes being the massacre at 10050 Cielo Drive where actress Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Voytek Frykowski, Abigail Folger, Steven Parent and Tate’s unborn baby were murdered in an apparent home invasion gone wrong. It was tragic, shocking and seemed to install fear in the state of California. And now it’s being made into a movie that tells the story through Sharon Tate’s (Hilary Duff) eyes.

Now being the true crime lover I am I was pretty excited. But after seeing the trailer for The Haunting of Sharon Tate? I’m on the fence leaning towards unimpressed. The concept itself is intriguing however the trailer introduces a paranormal element that gives it a cheesy vibe. The gist of it is that Sharon Tate is having vivid dreams of someone killing her, suggesting that the Manson Family had a supernatural connection with…something. And that they used this connection to taunt their victims before killing them. Much like a predator playing with it’s food. Because of my love for Hilary Duff I want this movie to surprise me and do well. Unfortunately I don’t think that’s how this is gonna play out. Though nobody can be sure until the movie is actually released. Check out the trailer below!
