Welcome to I.M.P. (Immediate Murder Professionals), where Blitzø and his merry band of assassins settle your unfinished business for you.
Helluva Boss Favorite Episodes
Helluva Boss, created by Vivienne Medrano (the creative behind Prime Video’s Hazbin Hotel), is a zany, breathless and expletive-laden thrill ride through Hell. If you want a raunchy, irreverent adult comedy about demons wreaking havoc, this series is for you. However, there’s more bubbling beneath the sleek, 2D-animated show’s surface. It bursts at the seams with heart and depth. You’ll fall in love with these characters faster than Blitzø can remind those he meets that the “o” in his name is silent.
While we wait impatiently for the remainder of Season 2, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite Helluva Boss episodes thus far.
“Loo Loo Land” (S01E02)
Who doesn’t love traveling to the Greed Ring for a day of fun at Loo Loo Land? This Season 1 episode introduces us to Fizzarolli (Alex Brightman), albeit in robot form, and lays the groundwork for the tense, complex relationship between him and Blitzø (Brandon Rogers). We get more screen time with Stolas (Bryce Pinkham), Blitzy’s fave Goetic Prince of Hell. Stolas’s relationship with his daughter, Octavia (Barrett Wilbert Weed), is quite sweet.

However, my favorite part of “Loo Loo Land” is that lush Stolas lullaby with those gorgeous complementary visuals. It’s so comforting, and Bryce Pinkham’s voice is like honey.
“Spring Broken” (S01E03)
In “Spring Broken,” everyone is cuteness personified, from Loona (Erica Lindbeck) in her human form to inebriated Moxxie (Richard Horvitz). Blitzø also says one of my favorite lines in Helluva Boss: “Don’t let her access your holes, Moxxie!”

Additionally, we get a fun intro to Blitzø’s inexplicable love of horses, a weird clown showing up to arrest Verosika (Christina Valenzuela), Tex (James Monroe Iglehart) and their gang, and Millie (Vivian Nixon) sweetly caring for her drunk hubby. Oh, and get this — the chaos that eventually bleeds Earth side all starts because of a damn parking spot.
“Truth Seekers” (S01E06)
If I had to do a ranking, “Truth Seekers” would be number one. It has everything: action, comedy, drama, romance and a Phantom of the Opera-inspired, drug-induced musical fever dream. The ladies also kick ass (but that’s nothing new). Then, there are the D.H.O.R.K.S., who eventually resurface in Season 2. They prove to be a formidable foe for our main players.
Blitzø and Moxxie’s Phantom of the Opera musical hallucination is a lot of fun. There are Easter eggs sprinkled throughout that reference these characters’ personalities and pasts. For example, Blitzø covered in paint is a nod to his circus past.

Additionally, Blitzy dressed like the Phantom references the “Paybill” Moxxie has on his wall. We get a true sense of Blitzø’s inner voice and how he despises himself. There’s a lot of character development in this episode. We also witness Stolas in action as he showcases the full might of his power, and it’s downright terrifying. Did I mention that action sequence with the whole crew? Oof. It’s bold, bloody and high-octane.
However, I’d be remiss if I omitted another golden line sung by Blitzy: “The world is your anus, so peg it with honesty.”
“The Circus” (S02E01)
How adorable are baby Stolas and Blitzø in “The Circus”? This outing blesses us with their respective origin stories and how they met and started having sex. We learn Stolas only acts overly sexual/kinky because he thinks that’s what Blitzy wants. It delves deep into their intriguing dynamic and how those feelings of lust develop into love. Oh, and Stolas’s dad, Paimon (Jonathan Freeman), isn’t winning any Father of the Year awards, nor is Stolas’s wife, Stella (Georgina Leahy), snagging any Spouse of the Year awards.
“Exes and Oohs” (S02E03)
“Exes and Oohs” finally sheds light on Moxxie’s backstory, explaining why he hesitated to kill that family in the pilot episode. We meet Crimson (Horvitz), Moxxie’s mob boss father, and get context regarding Moxxie’s heartbreaking, tragic past (no thanks to Crimson). Plus, Chaz (Eric Schwartz), Moxxie’s and Millie’s ex, enters the fray like the Chad Chaz he is.

Millie is a bona fide badass (as usual), saving her “damsel in distress” from marrying Chaz. Blitzø’s Shrek comment as he and Millie crash the nuptials cracked me up.
For eagle-eyed viewers, you might have noticed another hint at Mammon with Chaz’s rental suit (the first being Loo Loo Land) before the embodiment of Greed takes center stage in Season 2 Episode 7.
“Oops” (S02E06)
This outing is monumental for the Blitzy/Fizzarolli relationship. “Oops” unearths their trauma from being in the circus together. For example, Fizz’s knee-jerk trauma responses are flight or freeze when in danger (I can relate). Meanwhile, Blitzø is usually in fight mode.
Fizz’s “Look At This!” song is hysterical, with Alex Brightman giving his all in his vocal performance. I also loved diving deeper into Blitzy and Fizz’s fractured bond and how they mend fences by the episode’s end. Speaking of bonds … Blitzø was 100 percent in love with Fizz based on that flashback, right?

Asmodeus, aka Ozzie (Iglehart), and Fizz are super cute together. They have one of the healthiest relationships in Helluva Boss. Additionally, the color palette for the Lust Ring is so aesthetically pleasing. I need more of that.
“Mammon’s Magnificent Musical Mid-Season Special” (S02E07)
“Mammon’s Magnificant Musical Mid-Season Special” (look at that glorious alliteration) digs away at Fizz’s trauma. While he is (understandably) traumatized from being abandoned to burn to death and the abuse he received during his time in the circus, Mammon (Michael Cusack) also leaves quite an emotional mark.
This special episode shows more of Fizz’s sweet side. My favorite example is his signing with the adorable deaf boy. Ozzie also plays an integral role, reassuring Fizz he’s worthy of love (one thing he and Blitzy share in common — their self-loathing).

However, nothing can top (hee-hee) Fizz’s “2 Minutes Notice” tune, which sees him break free from Mammon. It’s an impactful number and profoundly resonant for anyone who’s stood up to their abuser. We support you, Fizzy.
“Apology Tour” (S02E09)
Rounding out this list is “Apology Tour,” the most recent Helluva Boss episode. It boasts necessary character growth for Blitzø as he reckons with his mistakes, particularly how he’s hurt his exes. We finally hear him say aloud what we’ve always known: he doesn’t believe he deserves true love and happiness. With the falling out between Blitzy and Stolas from the previous episode, “Apology Tour” sees the former apologize to said exes.
However, Blitzø finds it most challenging to say sorry to Stolas because he genuinely loves him, which is heart-wrenching. At the “F*ck Blitzø” party, Verosika is brutally honest with Blitzy as he watches Stolas kiss someone else on the dancefloor. Our favorite imp learns to let go of Stolas for the latter’s own good (although I hope they reunite soon).
“All 2 U” is also a banger, with Bryce delivering his best musical performance yet.
