We finally know when the devil is coming. According to Lionsgate, the film will be coming in over a year to warm up your winter. The cast is stacking up for Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen and now we have a day to look forward to.
Yesterday we got our first look at star David Harbour as Hellboy himself. Released on social media, we got a new take at the character that Ron Perlman helped bring to big screens years ago. Harbour joins Ian McShane cast as Trevor Bruttenholm, Milla Jovovich as Nimue, the titular Blood Queen, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan and Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida. Fingers crossed we’ll soon be adding Daniel Dae Kim to that cast list.
Set to come to theaters in January of 2019, it’s an interesting slot for Lionsgate. Since the “summer movie” season doesn’t really seem to be a thing anymore, they may be trying to copy the Lucasfilm model by having a winter release. We’ll have to see if it pays off for them.
What do you think of the film so far? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more Hellboy news. You’ll be able to see the Hellboy reboot on January 11th, 2019.
