What happens to us after we die? Do we see a white light and ascend? Does everything turn black and there is nothing? No one truly knows. The sequel/reboot to the 1990’s film of the same name questions just that with a sci-fi twist.

Flatliners sees 5 medical students experimenting with near-death experiences. They stop each other’s hearts for a period of time before being shocked back to life and recall their experience being dead. The longer they’ve been dead for, the more their mind “expands”. At first they seem to be high on the experience. But of course, things start to go terribly wrong very quickly, with the crew being haunted. Both with their memories and with unknown external forces.

The film stars Ellen Page as the lead with small but prolific cast. Including a long haired Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, Kiersey Clemons, Kiefer Sutherland and more. How this film will be a sequel to the original, it’s not quite clear. But Sutherland’s character from the original film will be making a return so that’s something to keep in mind.
