Oseman took to Instagram earlier today to share the official release date for Heartstopper Volume Five. The newest installation will come out on November 9 in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Oseman directed readers in other countries to keep an eye on their respective publishers for release information in other countries (For readers in the US, that’s Hachette Children’s Group).

The biggest announcement, however, came as a huge surprise. The Heartstopper books will not end with book five as previously announced, but with an upcoming sixth book! Oseman explained that while working on the fifth installation, she was trying to fit too much in. She said, “I realized that I needed to properly explore how Nick and Charlie’s relationship progresses and give all the characters their moment to really shine.”

Heartstopper Volume Five will follow the gang as they look toward the future. Oseman teased that “Charlie is starting to find confidence in who he is and what he wants but Nick is having a bit of a crisis with his Uni choices. Is he going to go far away or stay somewhere near Charlie? We’ll see!” Beyond that, however, we don’t have any information on what Volume Six might hold.

In the meantime, the Heartstopper Netflix series, covering the events of books two and three, has wrapped production on season two. With Oseman involved in the writing process, it’s bound to be just as wonderful as the first season.
