Season 3’s Cast Is Growing
The cast of Heartstopper season 3 is getting a whole lot bigger. Netflix announced three new cast members on Instagram today. Read on to find out what else we know about their roles.

The first season of Heartstopper was a huge success for Netflix, premiering in April 2022. Based on the graphic novel series of the same name, the show follows Nick (Joe Locke) and Charlie (Kit Connor) as they meet in school, become friends and quickly fall in love. News of a second and third season dropped a few weeks after the first season aired to the excitement of fans worldwide. Season 2 aired in August 2023 and was another runaway success.
Season 3 will see the return of stars Locke and Connor, as well as Yasmin Finney, William Gao, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell and Tobie Donovan. Not returning, however, is Olivia Coleman, who played Nick’s mom, Sarah Nelson.
Season 3 Synopsis
Here is Season 3’s official description:
“Charlie would like to tell Nick that he loves him. Nick also has something important to say to Charlie. As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realize that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges. As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn’t go to plan.”

The three new cast members are Jonathan Bailey, Hayley Atwell and Eddie Marsan. Atwell will play Diane, Nick’s aunt, who takes him on a summer trip to Menorca. Marson is Geoff, Charlie’s new therapist and a character who appeared in Alice Oseman‘s Heartstopper graphic novels.
As for Bailey, he’ll cameo as Jack Maddox, an Instagram influencer and Charlie’s celebrity crush. Some fans already guessed at Bailey’s appearance after discovering a since-deleted Instagram account for the fictional character, but the official announcement only came today.
