Hang on to your hats, fantasy lovers! HBO’s His Dark Materials will enter our realm soon for Season Two! The popular fantasy series has a premiere date locked in for its sophomore outing. 

Here’s a brief synopsis for Season Two straight from the horse’s mouth (well, press release): 

“Season Two of His Dark Materials begins after Lord Asriel has opened a bridge to a new world, and, distraught over the death of her best friend, Lyra follows Asriel into the unknown. In a strange and mysterious abandoned city she meets Will, a boy from our world who is also running from a troubled past. Lyra and Will learn their destinies are tied to reuniting Will with his father but find their path is constantly thwarted as a war begins to brew around them. Meanwhile, Mrs. Coulter searches for Lyra, determined to bring her home by any means necessary.”

Now, we have a handful of newcomers entering the scene for this season. Actors Terence StampJade Anouka and Simone Kirby are slated to join the fray. 

His Dark Materials is based on a fantasy book trilogy of the same name by Philip Pullman. The TV series follows a young girl named Lyra (Dafne Keen) who lives among scholars at Jordan College, Oxford. She discovers a life-altering secret that involves Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) and Mrs. Coulter (Ruth Wilson). Lyra embarks on a perilous journey fraught with kidnappings, conspiracies and intrigue aplenty.

Step into a new world when His Dark Materials Season Two premieres Monday, November 16 at 9pm on HBO. The series will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
