Prime Video officially announced last month that it had picked up not one but two seasons of Hazbin Hotel, an animated adult comedy show. Today, finally, the first full-length trailer was released for it. Fans have been waiting (im)patiently for news of the upcoming series since its pilot debut on YouTube in 2019. As of the writing of this article, the independently produced pilot sits at a mind-blowing 90 million views, so to say this announcement is highly anticipated would be one hell of an understatement.

The official synopsis says Hazbin Hotel follows Charlie (Erika Henningsen), the princess of Hell, as she pursues her seemingly impossible goal of rehabilitating demons to reduce overpopulation in her kingdom peacefully. After the yearly extermination imposed by angels, she opens a hotel, hoping patrons will be “checking out” into Heaven.

While most of Hell mocks her goal, her devoted partner, Vaggie (Stephanie Beatriz), and their first test subject, adult film star Angel Dust (Alex Brightman), stick by her side. When a powerful entity known as the “Radio Demon” (Amir Talai) reaches out to assist Charlie in her endeavors, her crazy dream is given a chance to become a reality.

We don’t yet know if all of the demons we see in the original YouTube pilot will return, but we do have some of the casting list confirmed. We know that Blake Roman, Keith David, Kimiko Glenn, Joel Perez and Christian Borle are all set to join the cast.

The new trailer shows some updated character designs and a new musical number. This was a welcome sight for the millions of Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel Fans who have been wondering how much of the charm of the original pilot would be preserved.

It will be a happy day in hell when the first season of Prime Video and Vivzipop’s Hazbin Hotel starts in January 2024. After watching the trailer linked below, comment on the updated looks or voice casting!
