Vaggie (Stephanie Beatriz), Husk (Keith David), Angel Dust (Blake Roman), Sir Pentious (Alex Brightman), Niffty (Kimiko Glenn) and Alastor are gathered in the parlor. Niffty asks Vaggie what happened to her wings. But Angel says she might not want to talk about it. Husk asks why every time Charlie talks to Heaven, they get in deeper shit. Vaggie defends Charlie’s efforts. But Husk is unconvinced. Angel asks where Charlie is. Vaggie says she’s upstairs in their room, alone. Alastor disappears from the parlor.

Alastor finds Charlie crying on her bed between her diminutive dragon pets, Razzle and Dazzle. He tells her that she looks “an absolute mess.” Charlie tells her to go away. But Alastor asks if that’s any way to act “after picking a fight with all of Heaven and dooming everyone you love?” Charlie says he doesn’t want to hear his jokes.

But Alastor asks who’s joking. He says she has a captive audience downstairs. But Charlie asks how she can face them after she’s failed them. She says she might be worse than the cruelest Overlord, as she has given false hope. Alastor says she’s delivered a miserable display of self-loathing. Charlie tells him to fuck off. She says all he does is smile as he watches the rest of them fail. However, Alastor says she can’t assume she knows what he’s thinking due to his smile. He describes a smile as a useful tool for accomplishing goals and remaining in control.

“Hello Rosie!”

However, Charlie says she’s nowhere near in control. She cites Vaggie keeping secrets and Heaven’s impending extermination. She says there’s nothing she can do about any of it. But Alastor sings, “I know something you don’t know.” Then he hints that the exorcist angels might not be as invulnerable as she thinks.

Alastor offers to make a deal with Charlie. She asks if he wants her soul. But Alastor says all he needs from Charlie is a favor. Alastor promises the favors won’t involve harming anyone. They shake hands, sending green energy through the Hotel. Vaggie runs to their room. But she arrives too late. Charlie says she made a deal. Alastor assures her Charlie still has her soul. Charlie explains that Alastor gave her potentially hotel-saving information. She states that Carmilla Carmine (Daphne Rubin-Vega) killed an exorcist during the previous extermination. Carmilla knows how they can be harmed.

Vaggie says she had no idea exorcists could be harmed. Charlie asks if Vaggie would have shared the information if she had known. Vaggie is speechless. Charlie tells Vaggie she needs her to go broker with Camilla for details on how to kill the exorcists. But in addition to intel, to stand against Heaven, they’ll need numbers, too.

Alastor says he knows who can help with that. He just needs Charlie to be “her normal, charming self.” Charlie alludes to Alastor’s statement about smiles. Alastor pats her on the head. Vaggie asks if they can talk. Charlie says they can talk later, as they now have jobs to do.

Egg Boi Intel

Vaggie reaches the Hazbin Hotel lobby. Angel asks if Charlie and Alastor are shirking their responsibilities. Vaggie says they have a plan, but it includes defending themselves against the angels. Husk asks if she’s high. Vaggie explains they can be killed. One of Pentious’ Egg Bois says he told Pentious this intel months ago. Pentious asks how he can tell which one of the insane things they say is legitimate. The Egg Boi says bank accounts are a scam created by the shadow government.

Vaggie sighs and says what’s important is that they have a fight on their hands. She turns to head towards Carmine’s. But before leaving, she acknowledges that none of the Hazbin Hotel residents signed up for this level of risk. She says she won’t be offended if they leave before she returns.

Elsewhere in Hell, Charlie vents to Alastor about her relationship troubles with Vaggie. The pair stroll into Cannibal Town. Alastor says there’s a friend of his she should meet. Soon they enter Rosie’s Emporium. Rosie (Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer) gives Alastor a warm welcome. She asks to be introduced to Charlie, and Alastor does so. Charlie declines Rosie’s offer of tasty human flesh. As Charlie and Rosie sit down on either side of a tea table, Rosie addresses Alastor.

Angelic Buffet

Rosie tells Alastor she’s got a line on a guy with few blocks of territory “and not enough goons to run it.” She says it’s an opportunity for a deal. But Alastor says they’re here for another kind of business. Rosie says not to keep her in suspense. Charlie begins to freak out about the extermination. Alastor says they need Rosie’s cannibals to help fend off the angelic attack. Rosie says it’s a big favor. But she goes out of her way to note that she’s not saying “no.” Alastor promises her people will be trained. And furthermore, they’ll be able to “eat their fill.” Rosie is convinced. Charlie is delighted.

Elsewhere Vaggie attempts to gain entry to Carmine’s compound. When she threatens to reveal what she knows to the passerby on the street, she’s granted entry. Inside, Carmine tells her she has two minutes to convince her “not to silence [her] for good.” But Charlie says they know an angel fell at her hand and need to know how. Carmine isn’t convinced. She says she won’t invite destruction into her house. Vaggie protests. All Charlie has ever done is try to help her people, which includes Carmine’s people. They didn’t pick the fight, but it’s here and must be faced. Carmine can either stand with them today or stand alone tomorrow.

But Carmine says Vaggie’s time is up. She leaps down and knocks Vaggie to the ground with her shiny point shoes.

Meanwhile, in Cannibal Town, Rosie gathers the cannibals in the square. Rosie tells Charlie she’d do anything for her. But she explains that it’s up to Charlie to convince the cannibals to follow her. Rosie recommends using her “moxie.” Alastor says it shouldn’t be a problem.

Susan

But the cannibals are a group that sticks together. Rosie says in order to convince the cannibals to follow her, Charlie will have to convince all of them. This includes Susan. Even Alastor sighs at the name. Rosie says she’s tough, but if Charlie can win Susan over, the rest will be a cinch. Soon, Rosie is introducing Charlie. But no sooner has Rosie left the stage than Susan begins heckling Charlie. While Charlie maintains her composure for a while, she eventually snaps and curses at Susan. Rosie pulls her away and says they’ll return after a brief intervention.

At Carmine’s compound, Carmine continues to spar with Vaggie. She asks if Vaggie knew angels could be harmed. Vaggie confirms she didn’t. Carmine explains that she’s showing Vaggie the flaw in her fighting style — the flaw in all of the exorcists’ style. Vaggie is surprised Carmine knows her secret. Carmine cites visual evidence and says it was obvious. She continues that the exorcists believe they are invulnerable, and this can be exploited.

Carmine reveals the angels can be harmed by their own angelic weapons. Vaggie asks how no one else has discovered this. Carmine explains angelic steel is uncommon. And those who do have it aren’t motivated to go test its efficacy against exorcists. However, a flashback shows Carmine and her daughters being cornered by exorcists during the last extermination. But Carmine notes that she had armed herself. She reveals that her point shoes are plated with angelic steel.

In the present, an upbeat musical number begins. The lyrics state that while Vaggie may be out for vengeance, she can only hope to prevail if she’s motivated by love. But by the end, the pair are dancing together.

Angelic Hang-Up

During Carmine’s song, Vaggie’s wings are revealed. As the song concludes, Vaggie says they’ll need weapons. In Cannibal Town, Rosie asks Charlie what’s on her mind. Charlie asks what you do when someone you love lies about what they are. Rosie says romance is her specialty. Charlie explains that Vaggie had hidden the fact that she’s an exorcist. Rosie says that’s quite a secret and asks how that makes Charlie feel. Charlie says angry. Furthermore, she says she worries that Vaggie may have been lying to her about other things, too.

Rosie asks if Charlie loves her. Further, she asks if she’s ever doubted Vaggie loves her. Charlie shakes her head. But she continues that Vaggie took part in the extermination. Rosie points out that the Hazbin Hotel is all about redemption. Charlie says Vaggie knows she believes in second chances, so why not tell her? Rosie says it can be hard to admit you aren’t proud of it. She continues that Vaggie is flawed. But she asks who down here isn’t.

Rosie says words are cheap, but actions speak the truth. Rosie asks what Vaggie’s actions have said. Charlie says they demonstrate she believes in Charlie and what she’s doing. She continues that Vaggie is learning how to protect what they’ve worked for. Meanwhile, Charlie laments that she can’t even explain her hotel correctly. Rosie asks how she usually explains it. Charlie says singing. However, that hasn’t been working lately. But Rosie assures her it will work there.

Charlie and Rosie return to the gazebo. Alastor hands Charlie his staff. Charlie begins singing to the crowd. Rosie and Alastor show their support.

Fortifications

Charlie sings that she must become a leader. She further sings about the things the cannibals will see as they march across hell, and the friends they will make. Alastor inserts a lyric about all the angel flesh they’ll get to eat. The crowd begins singing in unison and performing choreographed dancing. Charlie is a little perturbed by the cannibals’ bloodthirsty lyrics, but she’s won them over. She exchanges Alastor’s staff for Rosie’s. Next Rosie and Alastor sing a verse about Charlie’s extensive potential. And after a final climactic verse, the crowd heads off towards the Hazbin Hotel.

When they arrive, Vaggie is arriving with the angelic weaponry she acquired from Carmilla. Vaggie begins to say something serious. But Charlie tells her to hold the thought and gives her a souvenir from Cannibal Town. The couple embrace. And Charlie acknowledges Vaggie’s wings and says she likes them.
