Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Darth Vader in Ahsoka series.

The Force is strong with Hayden Christensen! As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the actor will reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker on Ahsoka, a Star Wars spin-off, opposite Rosario Dawson. Dawson plays the titular role of Ahsoka, Anakin’s Jedi Padawan. Ahsoka is part of a sentient humanoid species called Togruta, known for their large montrals, head tails and white facial pigmentation.

Since Ahsoka takes place five years after Return of the Jedi, it’s speculated that Christensen will appear as Anakin in flashback sequences.

Last year, we learned Christensen would return to a galaxy far, far away in 2022’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series alongside Ewan McGregor, which follows Kenobi a decade after the turbulent events that transpired in Revenge of the Sith.

Dave Filoni writes Ahsoka and executive produces alongside Jon Favreau. Plot details are currently under wraps.

Hayden Christensen began acting in the early ’90s, but his star soared into the stratosphere with his role as Anakin in 2002’s Attack of the Clones. Other notable credits include Revenge of the Sith, 2007’s Awake, 2008’s Jumper and 2014’s Outcast opposite Nicolas Cage. Christensen recently starred in the 2018 romcom Little Italy with Emma Roberts and the 2019 action flick The Last Man alongside Harvey Keitel.

Production for Ahsoka, backed by Disney Plus and Lucasfilm, is slated to begin in early 2022.

I’m excited to see Christensen reprise his legendary role. The possibilities are endless, and perhaps he’ll get a solo series set in the Star Wars universe someday. One can only hope!
