The Wizarding World is coming to your phone. Harry Potter fandom won’t be slowing down any time soon and the creation of this game proves just that. Mobile games studio Jam City will be bringing Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery to  our phones sometime next year. So what’s it about?

According to Pottermore.com, players can create their own character and experience life as a student. Which is essentially what everyone wants, isn’t it? The original Pottermore.com had a very small version of that with House sorting, getting your wand, chatting with other House members. With this game, things look to be even more detailed.

Once you’ve settled into the school, your character can move through the years while doing all the same things Hogwarts students do: taking part in Duelling Club, for example, or going to classes such as Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts. There’ll be faces you recognise, too, with many subjects taught by Professors you may already know and love.

While Pottermore.com had Duelling and Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts is new and would be really fun to be apart of! And as it says, your character will move through the years – so that means every year we’re going to get a new Professor for DADA. We don’t know much of anything about the mechanics, nor why its name is Hogwarts Mystery. We can only image the story-driven narrative will focus on strange happenings around the school.

Frankly, I can’t wait to get ahold of this mobile game. While I’m never a fan of microtransactions in mobile games, this may make me forget they’re there. And like I said, who doesn’t want to be a Hogwarts student? Now I can only hope for an Ilvermorny expansion so I can see that school. A girl can dream.

What do you think of the announcement? Will you be checking out the game? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more wizarding world fun. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will be released some time in 2018.
