Love is in the air for Harlivy. The official trailer for Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special promises meet-cutes, role play, group stuff, hot stuff, and, most importantly, all the stuff. HBO Max unveiled the trailer on Monday, giving us a peek at what to expect when next month rolls around.
Here’s the synopsis for the Harley Quinn special episode per WarnerMedia:
“As Harley goes to obsessive lengths to ensure that her first Valentine’s Day with Ivy is the best ever, Bane’s efforts to impress an unexpected date go horribly awry. Meanwhile, after an unfortunate online dating encounter, Clayface engages in some self-love.”

We can expect series regulars Kaley Cuoco (Harley), Lake Bell (Ivy), Alan Tudyk (Clayface/Joker) and Ron Funches (King Shark) to join the Gotham fun. The special also boasts quite the cast of guest and supporting stars, including J.B. Smoove, Diedrich Bader, Matt Oberg, James Wolk, Natalie Morales, Chris Diamantopoulos, James Adomian, Jim Rash, Vanessa Marshall, Janet Varney, Rachel Dratch, Leila Birch, Tyler James Williams, Josh Helman, Casey Wilson, Michael Ironside and more.
In the trailer, we hear Harley provide narration as she explains why she loves Valentine’s Day. It’s the one day per year when everyone has free rein to be as cheesy and mushy-gushy as they please. We see Catwoman give Batman bat-shaped chocolates while the latter’s in prison. King Shark has a Ghost moment with his lady love. Barry Allen gets close to Zatanna (Sorry, Iris). Kite Man takes to the skies with Golden Glider.
Meanwhile, Ivy urges Harley to keep their Valentine’s celebrations “low-key.” As if that word exists in Harley’s vocabulary. Bane asks Etrigan the Demon for help in the love department. Even Darkseid finds romance, and Riddler appears to propose to Clock King.

This special looks like lighthearted, whimsical fun, with Harley Quinn‘s signature snarky humor. I usually detest this Hallmark holiday, but I look forward to viewing it through fresh eyes while watching all of Gotham get freaky for V-Day.
Check out the official poster and trailer below. Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special will make your heart grow three sizes when it premieres on Thursday, February 9, 2023, only on HBO Max.
