String up your guitar, little songbird, because Anaïs Mitchell’s Hadestown is coming to a city near you!

Love, Greek Gods and a song to make spring come again, what more could you need for a hair raising adventure? Welcome to Hadestown, where a song can decide your fate. Inspired by the ancient legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, in which Orpheus goes to the underworld to rescue his fiancee Eurydice, the critically acclaimed Hadestown made a huge splash in the 2018-2019 Broadway season.

On top of being the highest grossing musical in the history of the Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway, Hadestown also went on to win eight Tony Awards, four Drama Desk Awards and six Outer Critics Circle Awards. In this version of the Greek myth it intertwines two tales – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone – as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Literally!

But a journey this epic is too good to be confined to just one Broadway stage. Which is exactly why the show is gearing up and taking Hadestown on the road. The railroad to be specific.
