The DC FanDome event crossed over into video game news yesterday with a new trailer for the upcoming Gotham Knights game. Not as if I haven’t been over the moon about this game since it was first announced, but this trailer just stole my heart all over again. It seems that the Batfamily is going to face off against the Court of Owls.

The story trailer for Gotham Knights is one of the best cinematic trailers I have seen from DC in a long time. The events of the game occur after Batman’s death and players will be able to control Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood or Robin. In this original story, it seems the Court of Owls is pulling the strings and it’s up to the Batfamily to uncover the mystery behind the organization.
Gotham Knights is looking to be a mix of action like other Batman games with a combination of investigative mystery. I have an excellent feeling we will be getting all of the things I love within the franchise in this video game. Plus Jason Todd! The trailer itself is narrated by Penguin, who seems to be helping Nightwing understand that there is a greater threat underneath the surface.
As the trailer continues, we get a glimpse at each of the heroes and a taste of the suspense and mystery that awaits us in Gotham Knights. Players will be able to solo this story alone or play alongside a friend to help defend Gotham City. Of course, the Batfamily will each have their own unique playstyle that will benefit the story. Along with the new story trailer, Warner Brothers dropped a behind-the-scenes look at the Court of Owls as well.
