Greetings, friends, and welcome to Mobile Game Monday, where we chat about games you can play on the go. If you like gaming on a phone or tablet, this is the place for you. Join us every week as we go on all sorts of adventures.

The holidays are coming up, and for some, that means lots of cooking. However, if you are tired of the traditional Thanksgiving spread of turkey and stuffing, why not make pizza instead?

Good Pizza, Great Pizza

Good Pizza, Great Pizza is a restaurant management simulation game from TapBlaze and PM Studios. Create delicious pizzas and make customers smile while running the pizzeria of your dreams. Progress through an interesting storyline and meet over 100 interesting characters. Unlock new ingredients, decorate your shop, and do whatever it takes to out-pizza your rival Alicante.

Gameplay

Each day brings new customers hungry for a slice of delicious pizza pie. Pay close attention to each patron’s request because everyone wants something different. Sometimes, requests can be unclear, so make sure you understand exactly what they want before you fire up the oven. Failing to meet the customer’s request can result in no tip or, worse, a refund.

What’s Your Favorite Topping?

Once the order is placed, get to the oven and start cooking. Place your dough, and then put on the requested toppings. Start with sauce and tap and drag your finger around to spread the sauce on the pizza. Cheese works the same way; tap and drag to sprinkle the dairy deliciousness onto the pie.

Toppings like pepperoni and sausage are placed individually and evenly unless using a helper. Use only what you need because toppings cost money and eat into your profits. Unlock all sorts of toppings, from mushrooms to peppers, as you progress through the game.

Cook, Cut, Box and Deliver

Then, place your pizza on the conveyor belt, which runs your pie through the oven. When it is done cooking, use the cutter to slice it up, put it in the box and give it to the customer. Work quickly because customer satisfaction drops the longer you take, which means a smaller tip.

Make It Your Own

Every great pizza restaurant has a character, so upgrade your place by adding tables, chairs and all sorts of decor items. Customize everything from the doorframe to the register. Make it your own with posters, artwork, plants and arcade machines. Even the pizza boxes can be customized.

I love how many customization options there are, especially because you can earn seasonal items by grinding the game. Finally, a game that doesn’t force you to break the bank to get cute stuff.

Shop and Events

If you can’t wait to get the cozy Fall items, you can purchase them and much more in the shop. Autumn brings adorable seasonal items like a cute little squirrel that hangs out in your window (which I got immediately). There are even seasonal storylines available for a limited time, like the Pumpkin Harvest, which ends in a couple of days.

Characters from the game including Alicante and more, surround a '10' with a pizza making the 0.

This game will celebrate its 10th anniversary with an upcoming event. From November 22 through December 12, TapBlaze has an exciting series of events planned, so join the fun now.

Our Adventure Ends Here

This is an incredibly charming game. The humor is genuinely funny, especially the news reports and Alicante. There is just enough game to keep you interested without being overwhelming. While the gameplay is simple, it can be trickier than you might think. Customer requests can get complicated, especially when you are rushing to get it done quickly. Unlocking and upgrading things for your restaurant is satisfying, especially when you start decorating.

Customers of all shapes and sizes are standing in a pizzeria. Several are shown standing close to each other and smiling in a group photo.

One of my favorite things about this game is that you can purchase items in the shop with real money or in-game currency. Usually, developers force you to buy cute items, but this game lets you actually earn them.

Overall, Good Pizza, Great Pizza is as satisfying as a nice, warm, fresh slice of pizza. I recommend this to all the cozy gamers, especially the pizza lovers. This wholesome game emphasizes community and what makes locally-owned pizza places so great.

Take it easy, and play it safe, gamers.
