Many Neil Gaiman fans are in their own personal heaven right now. And, the heavenly hits keep coming. A television adaptation of Good Omens, penned by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, is currently in production. Included in the star-studded cast is Jon Hamm. Neil himself took to Twitter Thursday to give fans a first look at Hamm as the archangel Gabriel.

Hamm will be joining acting giants David Tennant and Micheal Sheen, who star as Crowley and Aziraphale, two unlikely supernatural friends who are attempting to watch over the antichrist as he grows up. The archangel Gabriel is not mentioned much in the book, but as Entertainment Weekly reported in September, Gabriel’s role was to be expanded in the unwritten sequel, and Hamm’s role will be expanded for the television version.
So for you, for me, for all of us. FOR PEOPLE NOT YET BORN. This is what Jon Hamm looks like as the Angel Gabriel in the upcoming TV series of GOOD OMENS. A thing of beauty, and a joy for ever. pic.twitter.com/OK84PDZXLs

Hamm looks pretty cool. Not that it’s hard for him. Dressed all in cloud gray, he’s the picture of heavenly authority. I can’t wait to see what his Gabriel will bring to the haphazard world of Good Omens.
The six-part mini-series will premiere on Amazon and the BBC sometime in early 2019.
