Not even Agnes Nutter could predict such a top-tier cast for Prime Video’s Good Omens Season 2! As reported by Deadline, the fantasy comedy series based on the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett solidifies its cast while still in production for Season 2 in Scotland.
So, let’s get the bad news (omens) out of the way first: Benedict Cumberbatch (Satan) and Frances McDormand (God/Narrator) won’t return for Season 2.
The returning cast for Good Omens: Derek Jacobi, Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, Reece Shearsmith, Niamh Walsh, Jon Hamm, Miranda Richardson, Maggie Service, Nina Sosanya, Doon Mackichan, Gloria Obianyo, Liz Carr, Quelin Sepulveda and Shelley Conn.

Lastly, we’ve got a crop of newbies joining the post-apocalyptic fray: Jacobi’s I, Claudius costar Siân Phillips, Tim Downie, Pete Firman, Andi Osho and Alex Norton.
Gaiman, co-showrunner with Douglas Mackinnon and writer for Good Omens, had this to say regarding the cast:
We are so thrilled that we were able to get so many fabulous actors to return to the Good Omens family. Some of them are reprising roles, some of them are playing completely new characters. And we are just as thrilled by the people coming to the Good Omens team for the first time.
We have an ensemble cast of astonishing talent, and seeing what they’re giving us is a daily treat. I can’t wait until the rest of the world gets that treat, too.
Deadline also reveals “there are still a few names to be added” concerning the cast list.
The new six-episode season will explore storylines and relationships beyond Gaiman and Pratchett’s novel, such as demon Crowley (David Tennant) and angel Aziraphale’s (Michael Sheen) intriguing friendship. Since the pair helped avert the Apocalypse, they returned to living comfortably in London. That is until a messenger ushers forth a bewildering mystery.
As of now, there’s no confirmed return date for Season 2. Good Omens Season 1 currently streams on Prime Video.
