Ocean’s 8 just released it’s first trailer and things are getting real interesting real fast. We get to meet the cast of women plus learn just a little bit more about their role in the sequel/spin-off film. The women are taking on the Met Gala for one of the biggest jobs of their lives. Will they be able to pull it off?

We see that Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), Danny Ocean’s estranged sister, is getting parole for a previous crime. And while she says she wants a quiet life, she starts planning the exact opposite. She’s going to steal a $150 million dollar necklace from an actress at the Met Gala. She brings in her friend Lou (Cate Blanchett) to help her recruit the rest of the girls she needs. Amita (Mindy Kaling), a jewelry maker, Nine Ball (Rihanna), intelligence, Rose (Helena Bonham Carter), a seamstress, Constance (Awkwafina), a pickpocket. She also recruits an old friend Tammy (Sarah Paulson) to come out of family life one last time. So who’s the 8th? Ocean somehow gets actress Daphne Kulger (Anne Hathaway) in on stealing her own necklace.

Not everything will go smoothly as Ocean is seemingly acting on revenge as well. On what? We’re not quite sure. But what we learn is that her brother Danny Ocean, has died (or has he?). As she sits in front of his tomb in a mausoleum. Would her revenge be for his passing? We’ll have to find out when the film comes out. But it looks as quick and quippy as the original Ocean’s trilogy so I’m excited!
