For the Book Worm
A fun trend within the podcast community is for podcast creators to release a book. These books are usually stand alone stories so you don’t need to be caught up on the podcast to enjoy. Here are just few of recommendations:
Mostly Void, Partially Stars and The Great Glowing Coils of the Universe are episode transcripts of the hit Welcome to Night Vale podcast. Written by the show’s creators Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, the book includes dozens of gorgeous illustrations, creator commentary and is perfect for anyone new or a veteran of the Nightvale universe. They’re sold anywhere you get your books, including Amazon, and usually go for $16.99 each.
It Devours! is also written by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor. You don’t need to be caught up on Welcome to Nightvale to follow a story about “… a mystery exploring the intersections of faith and science, the growing relationship between two young people who want desperately to trust each other, and the terrifying, toothy power of the Smiling God.” (Welcome to Night Vale) It Devours! is also sold on Amazon and also goes for $16.99 in paperback.
Aaron Mahnke’s world of Lore has been a hit podcast since 2015. It focuses on the strange, unusual and odd coincidences life has experienced throughout history as told through non fiction stories. In his free time Aaron Mahnke has also set aside some of his favorite stories from the podcast and show into a book series. This trio of horror packed novels is the perfect stocking stuffer and available on the Lore shop.

Nights on the Transcontinental Bridge can get real cold. Luckily for us The Bridge podcast was nice enough to design these fun socks. I actually own a pair of these myself. Not only are they one of my favorite pairs (it’s a tie with my Mona Lisa ones) they are also super comfortable. Thick cotton ribbing with a crisp design printed above make for an unexpectedly snug pair of socks. For a mere $20 the podcaster, for sale of The Bridge’s online store, in your life can listen to their favorite podcast in style.

Dylan Marron spends a lot of his time as a professional podcast person on his hit show Conversations With People Who Hate Me. And in these difficult times Dylan reminds us that “…Empathy is not endorsement. Empathizing with someone you profoundly disagree with does not compromise your own deeply held beliefs and endorse theirs. It just means acknowledging the humanity of someone who was raised to think differently.” (Dylan’s TED Talk) How does he do that? In the form of this super slick shirt! On the official Conversations with People Who Hate Me online shop is available starting at $22.50. Who knows? Maybe it’ll be a nice conversation starter.
