My New Years Resolution is to curb my addiction to social networks. So, I’m going to take a break from this. Will miss you all, the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Well…not the Ugly. Happy New Year!!!

What have our favorite Star Trek players been up to?
- In 2016, Star Trek tragically lost Kelvin Timeline’s Chekov, Anton Yelchin. Though he was known for his acting, Yelchin had a passion for photography. Clayton Calvert and Rachel Vancelette from the Manhattan art gallery, De Buck Gallery, has curated 54 photographs, all taken with a Leica camera and disposable cameras, and created Anton Yelchin: Provocative Beauty. The art show will run through January 20, 2018, and proceeds that normally would pay the artist will be donated to the Anton Yelchin Foundation.
This exhibition focuses on portraits, self-portraits and interior images that Anton captured while exploring this private world. These photos include many intimate portraits of friends, family and also complete strangers. All of these people trusted Anton to convey his intimate interactions with them.

- Jonathan Frakes (Commander William T. Riker, ST:TNG) has sat in the director’s chair for many shows, including Seth MacFarlane‘s Star Trek inspired The Orville, and this evening will see the results of Frakes taking the controls for Star Trek: Discovery. Tonight’s mid-season premiere is the 10th episode, “Despite Yourself,” and can be watched on CBS All Access.

En Memorium
Red shirts are not the only crew members lost in Star Trek. We pay our respects to the following men and women that served their time with Starfleet, the Federation, or touched some form of the Star Trek universe:
- Star Trek: The Next Generation guest actor Jon Paul Steuer passed away suddenly on January 1, 2018, at the age of 33. Steuer portrayed the first incarnation of Alexander Rozhenko, the son of Lietenant Worf (Michael Dorn) and K’ehleyr (Suzie Plakson) on the ST:TNG episode “Reunion”. After Star Trek, Steuer went on to a short-lived acting career before retiring in 1996 at the age of 12. He had a musical career with several punk bands and then opened Harvest at the Bindery, a restaurant in Portland, Oregon, which immediately closed upon news of his death.
