Batwoman and Supergirl were on hiatus for the last two weeks. They will return next week with new episodes. For now, lets check in on Black Lightning and the Legends.
Black Lightning
The Book of Markovia: Chapter Three: Motherless ID (S03 E12)
Lynn (Christine Adams) was taken by the Markovians and Jefferson (Cress Williams) teams up with the most unlikely ally to get her back.
Jennifer (China Anne McClain) just found out that Khalil (Jordan Calloway) is alive and under the control of the ASA. TC (Christopher Ammanuel) informs the team that Khalil has a chip in his brain that is keeping him alive. It’s also what triggers Painkiller. The only way to turn off Painkiller is to block him with a firewall inside of Khalil’s brain. TC does that easily, but Khalil doesn’t want to leave his safe space in his head. TC is able to put Jennifer inside of Khalil’s head to revive him. That was the easy part. The hard part is Khalil coming to terms with the things he did as Painkiller, including killing his mother.
Sergeant Grayle (Boone Platt) informs Jefferson and Anissa (Nafessa Williams) that the Markovians took Lynn. They took her to recreate the meta stabilization cure. And they have Tobias Whale (Marvin Jones III). ASA Major Grey (Katy O’Brian) approaches Jefferson to make a deal. The superhero family will help rescue Lynn and Tobias. Major Grey to give the Pierce family immunity and wipe them from the ASA’s databases.
Jefferson tells Anissa about Lynn’s Green Light addiction. They agree to work as a family to help her. They tell Jennifer what’s going on and a team is formed. Black Lighting, Thunder, Lighting, TC, Brandon (Jahking Guillory), Gambi (James Remar), Grace (Chantal Thuy), and the ASA prepare to face the Markovians.
Meanwhile Lynn resists the urge to take the Green Light offered to her by the Markovians. Dr. Jace (Jennifer Riker) tries to befriend Lynn to gain her trust, but Lynn is still sharp as a tack. She is able to hold off on creating anything. As for Tobias, the Markovians plan to lobotomize him so they can extract his bone marrow when needed.

Lynn continues to resist the Markovian’s orders to create the cure, so they bring in the big guns. A meta with the power of persuasion…Wayne Brady. He goes by the name Gravedigger and he’s not used to hearing the word know. But he also hasn’t met Lynn Pierce. She takes Glimmer to counteract Gravediggers powers. How did she know how to do that? Then she persuades Gravedigger to give a blood sample to speed up the meta stabilization cure. Then she uses that blood to give herself his powers. She’s a genius!
Jenn convinces Khalil to help in their mission. He ends up facing Gravedigger in the best fight of the entire series. Brandon finds Dr. Jace, but Grayle stops him from killing her. Long story short, Team Black Lightning rescues Lynn, Tobias and Dr. Jace. Gravedigger almost stops them. He forces Lynn to stay and in return he won’t kill her family. Lynn agrees, but before Gravedigger could gloat, Black Lightning lights him up. For the Black Lightning’s first team up, that was actually a really exciting episode. In the end, everyone returned safely to Freeland. But they need to prepare. The Markovians won’t give up so easily.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
Miss Me, Kiss Me, Love Me (S05 E02)
The Arrowverse Legends are hunting down Encore Killers, serial killer and bad guys from the past who are getting a do over, thanks to Astra Logue (Olivia Swann). Betting rid of the encores isn’t easy because Astra has each of their soul chits in Hell. And there’s very little that John Constantine (Matt Ryan) can do about it.
The Legends go to the 1940’s to capture the infamous Bugsy Sigel (Jonathan Sadowski). John does an amazing American accent when he is hired by Bugsy’s girlfriend to protect her. But she’s actually after Bugsy’s stash of secrets that keeps him in power.

Ray (Brandon Routh) gets to play good cop, Sara (Caity Lotz) gets to play Bugsy, and Ava (Jes Macallan) gets to drunkenly sing “Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe. In her mind, she was amazing. They catch Bugsy and John returns him to Hell. Astra is amused especially since John is freaking out about how to stop her.
Behrad (Shayan Sobhian) took Nate (Nick Zano) home with him to meet the family…including Zari (Tala Ashe). Note* Behrad told his parents that he’s in Business school and that someone stole the family totem. Oh and he likes to get high with Nate. In this new world, Zari is a social media influencer and completely suspicious of her brother. Nate recognizes Zari from the video that he found on the Wave Rider. He remembers Zari, but not everything. Zari just thinks he’s weird. Zari finds out that Behrad stole the family totem and is a time traveller and not in business school. She threatens to tell their parents so Behrad traps her on the Wave Rider.
Slay Anything (S05 E03)
The Legends return to 2004 to Mick Rory’s (Dominic Purcell) high school reunion in Central City. When Mick was in school, a bunch of students were killed on Prom Night by Freddie Meyers (Seth Meriwether/Garrett Quirk). He was arrested and executed for the murders. The Legends decide the best way to get rid of Freddie is to travel to 1989 and stop him from killing anyone. Luckily they have a fairy on their side.
Norah Darhk (Courtney Ford) returns to grant the wishes of children everywhere and she hates it. She gets pulled into Freddie Meyer’s life when he is asked to the Prom by the most popular girl in school. Nora helps Freddie look his best for the dance, only to have bullies attempt to humiliate Freddie. Nora is able to talk Freddie out of hurting anyone and he wishes for a dance number at Prom. it works…Freddie is the most popular kid at Prom, but the killer is still lurking in 2004.
It turns out that Freddie is not the killer, his mother Kathy (Beth Riesgraf) is. She killed the kids because they threatened to take Freddie away from her. Freddie took the blame for her and the night he was executed, Kathy died of a heart attack.
Luckily Zari got out of her confinement and was able to stop Kathy from killing anyone. It was pure luck really. Zari had no idea they were in 1989. She exposed Kathy as the would be killer, changing history, and that made the encore disappear from 2004.
Zari thinks Behrad’s life is kind of cool and sticks around for a little while longer. She returns to the future with Nate, Behrad, Nora and Ray. They join Sara and Ava in some prom night fun. And Mick gets a second chance with an old girlfriend that he ditched at Prom.
Meanwhile, Constantine and Gary (Adam Tsekhman) find Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) occupying Constantine’s house and form. She’s been partying because…well…she can. Constantine returned home to talk to the spirit of Astra’s mother. He trapped the woman’s spirit in a room in his house. And he’s scared to open the door. Charlie says something very insightful to encourage Constantine to open the door. This could go either way…
