Wynonna Earp has taken the mantra “I’m here and I stay” and put it to action. After months and months of the series being in limbo and of Earpers fighting the good fight online, the show has announced it is coming back in 2020.

The show, helmed by Emily Andras and based on the comic by Beau Smith has been greenlit to start production for its fourth season.  IDW Entertainment, in partnership with SYFY, Space and SEVEN24 Films stated that production will begin later this year and is expected to premiere in the summer of 2020 on SYFY in the US and Space in Canada.  Also, Cineflix Studios has come on to co-produce and will handle the rights overseas.

Lydia Antonini, President of IDW Entertainment said in a release,  “The series, the comics, the characters, the story and the fans are all deeply important to IDW so we are thrilled to be able to continue to tell the Wynonna story. From the very beginning, the fans have embraced the series and have transformed their passion into an inclusive community built upon empathy and support, as well as whiskey and donuts. We are grateful to have partners who were able to help us bring it back for a fourth season so that we can continue to serve the dedicated Earpers, and entertain fans everywhere.”

To say the fans have embrace the series is an understatement. Earpers are one of the strongest — I like to think that it is the strongest — fandoms around today. When the series went on hiatus and the horizon was looking grim, Earpers united in love, support and a mission to get that show back on the air that never lost its passionate support.  As Xavier Dolls once said, “Wynonna Earp is a survivor that never gives up” and so is its community. All Earpers should stop what they are doing, give themselves a huge hug, and take a giant shot of whiskey with a donut chaser!

Showrunner and inspiration Andras said “We are absolutely thrilled that we get to make more ‘Wynonna Earp,’ and are grateful to our networks and partners for working hard to ensure we can. This is an enormous testament to our passionate and fierce fans, the Earpers, who remind us every day how to fight like hell for the things you love with wit, ferocity and kindness.”

The show stars Melanie Scrofano, Tim Rozon, Dominique Provost-Chalkley and Katherine Barrell all of whom have gone above and beyond to interact with the Wynonna Earp community and help make it the family it is today.

The countdown begins!
