We have our first teaser for Fahrenheit 451 and we can’t help but be excited. While we don’t get much from it, knowing that it’s coming is nearly enough. We see shadows of a fireman, a flash of a badge, and a pile of books on fire. It’s a full blown tease!
So what little we see in the teaser, what do we know about the film? Well it’s an HBO television film directed and written by Ramin Bahrani, based on the ground-breaking dystopian novel by Ray Bradbury. It stars Michael B. Jordan as our protagonist Guy Montag. Jordan liked the project so well that he signed on to be executive producer as well. The cast also consists of Michael Shannon (aka the scariest/meanest face in Hollywood) as Captain Beatty. Sofia Bouetlla as the forward-thinking neighbor Clarrise and Laura Harrier as Montag’s wife, Millie. One of most interesting casting choices is Lilly Singh aka Superwoman from YouTube. She’s been cast as a vlogger, emphasizing that this adaption of the story has an updated twist.

Bradbury was ahead of his time when he wrote about this society in his book. It echoes our present times creepily well. People are more plugged into their computers than into books (and possibly each other). Just thank goodness there’s not mass book burnings! There’s just so much social commentary in the books that we couldn’t possibly cover in this article. So, instead, take a gander at the teaser and get fired up with us.
