Never fear, for Geek Girl Authority is here! We’ve conjured up a delicious list of tasty geeky dishes to spruce up your Thanksgiving feast. Not only will these be fun to eat, but they’ll also be fun to make!
1. Elven Lembas Bread – Lord of the Rings

Calling all Elves of Middle Earth and beyond! This recipe is sure to transport you to the world of your favorite fantasy series – Lord of the Rings. Elven Lembas Bread is a bread crafted by Elves and normally utilized for sustenance on long journeys. It contains a cream colored filling on the inside and is wrapped in Mallorn leaves. You can whip these up for Thanksgiving, second breakfast, or that Lord of the Rings theme party you’ve been dying to throw. Get the full recipe here.
2. Hors d’oeuvres with the Grey Stuff – Beauty and the Beast

Ever since Beauty and the Beast premiered in 1991, we’ve been simultaneously intrigued and confounded by the elusive “Grey Stuff.” What exactly makes it delicious, Lumiere? Well, now you can wow your family with some pre-Thanksgiving dinner hors d’oeuvres, courtesy of the Disney animated feature. Containing everything from Smoked Salmon and Creme Fraiche to Salami and Provolone Cheese, these little beauties are sure to be a home run. 3. Roasted Pork with Mushrooms and Apples – Game of Thrones

Ah, Game of Thrones. The show nearly every human on the planet greedily consumes every summer. If you’ve read the A Song of Ice and Fire series, then you may recall the feast of boar Robert Baratheon had prior to his death. This recipe is almost verbatim from A Clash of Kings, minus the boar part. Instead, pork is substituted. Boar isn’t easy to come by these days. Winter is almost here, so why not eat this hearty dish in preparation? Bring a taste of Westeros to Thanksgiving this year by nabbing the recipe here.
4. Pumpkin Juice – Harry Potter

Now, you may be thinking, “Melody, this isn’t a food item.” Well, your guests may get dehydrated after a while. Or they’re massive Harry Potter fans. Regardless, ’tis the season for pumpkin, pumpkin and more pumpkin. Instead of doling out the already commonplace butter beer, why not try pumpkin juice on for size? Add in some cinnamon, honey and vanilla extract and you’re good to go. A perfect post-Thanksgiving dinner beverage or an aid in studying for those pesky O.W.L. exams. If you recall from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Queen of Hearts holds a trial over who stole her jam tarts. Said trial includes the famous line “Off with their heads!” Well, these delectable tarts are a recreation from the novel.
