If we didn’t see enough Star Wars games news during Gamescom 2020‘s Opening Night Live, the Sims 4 series made sure we got our fill. EA announced that the next expansion, titled Journey to Batuu, was inspired by Galaxy’s Edge within Disneyland and Disney World. Players will be able to journey off to Batuu and visit places like Vi Moradi and Oga’s Cantina, along with seeing some pretty familiar faces.
This isn’t just a vacation to a far-off world, though. We will need to choose a faction to side with in the war between the Resistance and the First Order. If those two don’t win you over, you can also choose to join Hondo Ohnaka instead. We will get to embark on exciting missions and increase our reputation to unlock a long list of things. Not to mention we get to customize our own droids and create our own lightsabers. The customizing doesn’t stop there, though. Players will be able to return home and redecorate using items from Batuu.

The Journey to Batuu provides us a new way to immerse ourselves within the world of both the Sims 4 as well as Star Wars. We will finally get to live out our dreams of participating in galactic espionage, joining the resistance or the dark side, and even maybe charming a stormtrooper. The possibilities seem almost endless now. So get ready to take off on a journey through the galaxy to get closer to meeting (and maybe marrying) Kylo Ren.
The Sims 4 Journey to Batuu expansion will release on September 8, 2020 for PC and Mac through Origin, PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
