SPOILER! Game of Thrones is a a theory gold mine. There’s a theory for nearly everything! One such theory that’s been gaining traction is that Bran Stark has a deep connection to the Night King. So deep that he’s apparently from Night King himself! But is it true?
In a interview with Vulture, star Isaac Hempstead Wright talked about Bran’s role in the latest season. Besides calling Bran a “a vessel for human knowledge”, they were able to talk briefly about theories. Since he’s so cold and calculating now, fans have seen the connection between Bran and the Night King. So what does Wright say about it? When asked about the connection between the two, Wright explained.

I think it’s less that they’re the same person and more that they’re two of the ancient beings of Westeros. The Three-Eyed Raven has been around for God knows how long, and White Walkers have been reported since the beginning of time. As we’ve seen, they were created by the Children of the Forest, so we can’t get much more ancient than that. Perhaps we can think of it as these are two characters with a huge amount of power, but one is a Frankenstein’s monster who is driven by nothing but hatred and violence. Then there’s Bran, who uses his powers for good. I want to find out why the Night King is so obsessed with destroying mankind. We’ll see whether they have any kind of explanations in the next season. Hopefully we’ll find out cool stuff about both of those characters.
Well he doesn’t quite debunk the rumor, he clearly doesn’t see the characters as the same being. He also makes the best point that both ‘beings’ are ancient and created by the Children of the Forest. Why would they create one only to have it become the other? That’s something else you’ll have to mull over. For now, you’ll have to hold your theories till 2019.
