Game of Thrones eighth and final season premieres on Sunday, April 14th.  There are a lot of things to look forward to, and so many predictions floating in the ether.  But, I am most excited about seeing what happens when long anticipated reunions occur.  Here are five reunions (in no particular order) I look forward to seeing!

Obviously, Jon (Kit Harington) and Arya (Maisie Williams) are certain to meet again in season eight.  The trailer showed us that, for sure.  The question is, will their bond survive?  Will his new alliance with the dragon queen, and Arya’s new, murderous edge drive a wedge between them?  I tend to doubt it.  The pack is stronger together… which brings me to another aspect of the Jon/Arya reunion!  They are the only Starks with surviving dire wolves!!  Obviously we want Nymeria and Arya to find each other again.  But, also… bring Nymeria and Ghost back together to fight the dead!!!  Let’s do this!

JON and BRAN (and SAM)

Jon and Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) haven’t seen each other since Jon left for the wall all those ages ago.  Jon and Sam (John Bradley) haven’t seen each other since Sam left for Old Town.  Bran and Sam have since gotten together and combined their powers of tree-touch knowledge and book learning knowledge.  They have so much to tell Jon and I can’t wait to see how it goes down.  How will it be revealed to Jon that he is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne?  I doubt we’ll see this reunion until later in the season, but it’s got to happen.  Add to that, Jon is coming to Winterfell with Daenerys (Emilia Clarke).  I’m putting my money on Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) being the one to break the news to Sam that Daenerys burned his family members alive.  Sam is now Lord of Horn Hill.

Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Tyrion are still married, you guys!!  What is going to happen when they get back in the same room?  Obviously they have no ill will toward each other.  Each has been kind to the other.  But, will the marriage stand?  Is it just going to fade into the background?  Is it illigitimate just because those who arranged it are dead?  I can’t wait to see how their relationship plays out.

It was not a certainty that Tormund (Kristofer Hivju) had survived the fall of the wall until we saw the season eight trailer.  Tormund and Beric (Richard Dormer) seen walking the halls together in that trailer.  They’re alive alright.  So, how will Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) receive him when they are reunited?  She was taken aback by his interest in her when they first met. Maybe she’ll warm up to the idea.  I’d love a Tormund/Brienne love story!  Right?!?

At the end of season seven, Daenerys was unaware that Viserion has been raised by the Night King to become an undead ice dragon.  But, we can count on her finding out pretty quickly.  What will happen when Viserion faces his mother and brothers for the first time.  Will he remember them?  Will it be… kill or be killed?  It probably won’t go well for any of them.  Ugh.

What reunion are you most looking forward to?  Game of Thrones season eight premieres TOMORROW on HBO!!
