Well this is news I’m incredibly excited to hear! According to Deadline, Wonder Woman 1984 will make an appearance at SDCC 2018. While it seems a little obvious that they would mention the highly anticipated sequel at the DC panel, there’s more. Apparently the star of the film, Gal Gadot, will have a surprise for fans there. I need to see this!

It’s believed that Gadot will show up to the panel alone to introduce the surprise footage. What’s contained in the footage is, of course, completely unknown to us at this point. But with filming having gone under way a little less than two months before the convention, they should have a small teaser to share. While it will be a bummer not to hear director Patty Jenkins or returning star Chris Pine speak, it’s for the best because they’re probably very busy filming.

This kind of tease isn’t new to the DC panel. Last year at the convention, Jason Momoa came out wielding his trident and shared a teaser for Aquaman. That footage teased King Orm (Patrick Wilson) aka Ocean Master’s army riding great white sharks, something we’re sure to finally see a year later at this year’s convention. Also expected to make a teaser appearance this year is Shazam! with Zachary Levi at the helm. No word on if Levi, the king of SDCC, will make it down to the panel but it seems unlikely that he would miss it!

The production team on WW84 has been so kind to show us 3 still images already. Not to mention revealing that Steve Trevor is back in the film (probably to avoid it leaking). So just what else could they tease us with? While action may be a possibility, given that fans have secretly recorded them filming some heavy action scenes, I think they’ll do something else. I think they’ll reveal Cheetah. Or, at the very least, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Ann Minerva. They may not have the effects ready just yet for Cheetah but good googly moogly that could make or break the character. Here’s hoping they’ll share the footage with the rest of the world!

What do you think of a WW84 tease? Are you all in? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more DC news. Wonder Woman 1984 storms into theaters November 1st, 2019.
