The show is created and executive produced by Noah Hawley (Fargo) and based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz. Legion season one focuses on David, son of X-Men’s Professor Charles Xavier. David mistakes his telepathy and telekinetic abilities for schizophrenia. When David meet Syd (Keller), they share a moment that changes everything for him. David finds out he is sharing his mind and his powers with the Shadow King Amahl Farouk (Negahban). Farouk often takes the form of Lenny (Plaza), a childhood friend of David’s. Syd introduces David to Melanie Bird (Smart) and her team of mutants. Together they help David try to free himself of the Shadow King. By the end, the Shadow King takes over a new host, Oliver Bird (Clemente). And David is trapped inside a mechanical ball.
If season two is anything like the first, we should have a very visually appealing and mind-blowing experience. I mean, Aubrey Plaza alone makes this show incredible. (Chapter 6 is amazing!) There are so many questions after season one. What is that mechanical ball? Why did it take David? Will Professor Xavier ever appear on Legion? And what kind of shenanigans are Aubrey Plaza and Jermaine Clemente going to get into? If you haven’t watched the first season, you can binge it now on Hulu.
Legion will air Tuesday on FX at 10 ET/9 CT. Check back with Geek Girl Authority for more Legion news.
