Lionsgate’s From the World of John Wick: Ballerina
Like Marvel’s Black Widows, the John Wick-verse has Ballerinas. Plural. They are the girl orphans raised by Angelica Huston’s The Director for the Ruska Roma. Trained as excellent classical dancers, they are also adept assassins. In John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, a Ballerina appears, played by Unity Phelan.
The trailer for From the World of John Wick: Ballerina begins with a very young Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) witnessing her father’s death. Shortly afterward, Winston (Ian McShane) takes her to the Tarkovsky Theater and The Director, where she begins her two-pronged training.

Peripheral but coincidental to the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, Eve crosses paths with familiar faces in familiar places. We see her pay Charon (Lance Reddick, in his final posthumous screen appearance) a coin to check into The Continental. And, of course, she takes her inspiration from the Baba Yaga himself, John Wick (Keanu Reeves).
Vengeance Has a New Face
New to us are Nogi (Sharon Duncan-Brewster) who trains Eve and the other Ballerinas in their assassin skills and Pine (Norman Reedus) a mysterious man who tries to warn Eve off her chosen path. Finally, there’s The Chancellor (Gabriel Byrne,) whom we can only assume by the title is a High Table higher-up. The trailer shows the Chancellor warning Eve that Fate can be humbling.

Eve is keen to train and dedicated to avenging her father’s death. The intense action pieces in the trailer demonstrate her skill, speed and tenacity. Not only are her moves very John Wick-efficient, but they also carry the grace her codename implies. Furthermore, she has the brains to fight fire with … water. Although, it is clearly a John Wick-verse film when a villain chooses to attack with a flamethrower. Like, wow.
After being postponed a year by franchise overseer Chad Stahelski’s decision to amp up the action sequences, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina pirouettes into theatres on June 6, 2025.
