Kristi Miller

Fast Facts:

Kristi Miller (Chloe Van Landschoot) is the town’s resident medical professional. She runs the clinic and cares for everyone to the best of her ability. Her first appearance is in the pilot episode, shortly after the Matthews family drove into town. Unfortunately, Jim Matthews (Eion Bailey) wrecks the family van, which leads to his son, Ethan (Simon Webster), having a metal rod through his leg. Kristi works diligently to free the boy as darkness falls, ushering in a new wave of terror.

Throughout the first season, Kristi stood steadfast, caring for the town’s residents no matter what happened around her. We also see her develop a close relationship with Kenny (Ricky He). However, the second season turns her world on its axis. Her finance Mari (Kaelen Ohm) arrives on a bus filled with newcomers. Not to mention the continual changes occurring.

We know little about Kristi’s life before arriving in this strange town. She was studying medicine but was a year short of a degree. She had a fiance. This is the extent of the knowledge revealed thus far.

Kristi and the other town residents stand together on MGM+'s From.

The Real Deal:

Kristi Miller is the real deal. From her first appearance to the latest episode, she continually faces difficulties. Between fearing for the future of the people in the small town to incredible challenges and interpersonal issues, she proves her resiliency.

Not only does she fight for what is right, but Kristi is also learning and adapting to an ever-changing environment. Even so, that doesn’t mean she does not occasionally falter. Between the character’s writing and Chloe Van Landschoot’s portrayal, Kristi is a character that many can relate to and empathize with; the viewers grow with her.

Why She Matters:

Why does Kristi matter? This character shows us that you can be both strong and vulnerable. It is not an either/or decision. She also shows that even under incredible and difficult circumstances, it is ok to not know what to do, even when people look to you for answers.

Chloe Van Landschoot gives Kristi depth and personality that goes beyond the script, beyond the story and beyond the two-dimensional screen. Overall, Kristi Miller is a pillar of the world created in From, even though she is not always recognized as such.

So, be like Kristi Miller. When everything is falling apart around you, find ways to not only survive but also thrive. Show the people you care about how you feel and always follow your instincts.
