Fox Renews GOTHAM for Fifth and Final Season

After a few tense days, the Gotham fandom got some good news. The show has been renewed for a fifth and final season.

When Fox announced its cancelations this week, which turned out to be a bloodbath, Gotham’s fate remained a mystery. Fans took to Twitter, posting pleas for its renewal. It was then reported that Fox was trying to save Lethal Weapon, after releasing one of its stars. If they could get a suitable replacement, then it was likely that Gotham would get the ax.

There is no indication that fan outcry had any impact on the situation, but right after Fox fixed Lethal Weapon, they confirmed that Gotham would also be returning. The focus of the season will be Bruce Wayne’s transition to Batman. So far, there has been no mention of the recast rumors that began a few weeks ago. Meanwhile, season 4 wraps up this Thursday.
