It has been a few months since season one of Apple TV Plus’ adaptation of Isaac Asimov‘s Foundation, but it still lives in my brain daily. Usually, I spend a few minutes trying to figure out if I can see into the future to know what is going to happen in season two and see what big questions they are going to answer. Spoiler alert…nothing happens. Thankfully, we got some pretty exciting news today and it’s all casting!
Joining Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Lee Pace, Terrance Mann and Jared Harris are Isabella Laughland, Kulvinder Ghir, Sandra Yi Sencindiver, Ella-Rae Smith, Dimitri Leonidas, Ben Daniels, Holt McCallany, Michael Persbrandt, Rachel House and Nimrat Kaur. What a cast! I don’t think I have been this excited since they announced the cast for the first season of Foundation. But we didn’t just learn that they were going to be in the series; we also learned their roles!
Laughland will be playing Brother Constant, a cheerful, confident claric whose job is the evangelize the Church of the Galactic Spirit across the Outer Reach. She is a true believer and her passion makes her hard not to love. Ghir will play Poly Verisof, High Claric of the Church of the Galactic Spirit. He is intelligent and sarcastic but a drunk.

Sencindiver joins Foundation as Enjoiner Rue, a beautiful and politically savvy consigliere to Queen Sareth. Rue was a previous courtesan to Cleon the 16th. She gave us her status in return for becoming a royal counsellor. Speaking of Queen Sareth, Smith will be filling that role! She uses the fact that so many people underestimate her to charm her way into the Imperial Palace on a secret quest for revenge.
Leonidas will be joining season two of Foundation as Hober Mallow, the master trader with a personality only a mother could love. And even I doubt she would love his questionable morals and sarcasm. In the second season, he will be summoned against his will to serve a higher, more selfless cause. But what cause is that? Daniels will be taking on the role of Bel Roise, the last great general of the Superliminal Fleet. He is noble to a fault, but Bel’s allegiance to the Galactic Empire is waning.
McCallany will be taking on the role of Warden Jaeggar Fount, who fills in as the Warden of Terminus after Salvor leaves to find Gaal Dornick. Persbrandt will appear as The Warlord Kalgan, a monster more than a man fueled by hate in his quest to take over the galaxy. House will be the mysterious leader of the Mentallics, Tellem Bond. And finally, Kaur will appear as Yanna Seldon. We don’t know how she is connected to Hari Seldon, but I imagine we will learn more as the series dives into the second Foundation he was heading towards in season one.
We can’t wait to see what adventures await us in season two of Foundation! They have a lot of questions we would love to see answered, plus introduce more exciting storylines.
