Have you ever wanted to solve a murder? Us too. And the incredible folx at TBD Theatricals and many other extraordinary creative minds are giving us the chance. Andrew Barth Feldman, Alex Boniello and Matthew Barth Tinkelman have announced the upcoming launch of Foul Play. The all-digital anthology series features an innovative twist on the “whodunit” genre that puts the sleuthing in the hands of the viewer.
Foul Play will feature five different comedically-themed murder mysteries that will release weekly. The super nifty explainer video shows us just how each episode will play out. In the beginning, viewers will see all of the suspects together in the same room. As the episode goes on, they will separate into smaller groups and at one point – a murder will occur.

This is where the sleuthing beings. Players will be able to tap into the security cameras in each of the four rooms and listen in on conversations, watch the action live and zero in on important information. But they need to be mindful that everything is live. So they might be watching one conversation and missing another completely. In the end, players will get to look at all of the information uncovered and take a crack at solving the mystery.
Hunter Arnold of TBD Theatricals shared that this isn’t just another whodunit. “We built a unique virtual platform just for this series. Through this digital platform, viewers are able to watch and enjoy each case on their terms as it plays out. With the ability to follow the characters and scenarios of their own choosing, they’ll be able to have a different viewing experience every time they watch it.”
