Force Awakens 3D Interior

Star Wars: The Force Awakens currently owns the top spot of all time movie grosses in the U.S., worldwide it holds the number three spot.  I’m not getting into adjusted gross because that changes everything, so we will stick with number 1 domestically, and number 3 worldwide.  Which means it’s no surprise that Disney is rolling out a new version of the blu-ray release, this time in 3D.

Not only will it be 3D, it will include all the original release bonuses as well as new behind-the-scenes conversations, additional deleted scenes, and audio commentary by director J.J. Abrams.  The commentary is the thing that is going to get many of my friends to fork over more money for a second version of the same movie.  As exciting as this is, and as much as I want to watch the new bonus content, this is far from the last release we will see of this movie.  There will be, at the very least, one more version released in the trilogy boxset.

Ultimately, you have to decide how many times you are willing to buy the same movie.  No judgement from me, it is Star Wars after all.
