Florence Pugh Set to Join BLACK WIDOW Film

We have some news coming out of the Black Widow solo film. According to THR, up and coming actress Florence Pugh is currently in talks to join the film. Unfortunately we don’t know too many details involving the film but we did learn a little.

According to the report, Pugh will be playing a spy in the same class as Scarlett Johansson‘s Natasha Romanoff. It’s been theorized that the role will be Romanoff’s ‘moral opposite’, though that is not confirmed. It’s also unclear if this film will be taking place during her training as an elite spy or if it will be in a more present time period where her past catches up to her. What we do know is that it will be set on an international stage and focus on the Avenger.

Cate Shortland is directing with Jac Schaeffer writing the most recent script. The film is scheduled is start filming in June so we’ll keep our eyes out for more details. Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for the latest Marvel movie news.
