THE FLASH revealed Savitar’s identity to the team last week. And they recruited Tracy Brand to create a speed force gun to trap Savitar. Now they need an energy source to power the gun.

24 HOURS BEFORE IRIS WEST IS SUPPOSED TO DIE
Tracy (Anne Dudek) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) are working around the clock to find the energy they need to power the Speed Force Bazooka.
Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) can’t sleep.
Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry (Grant Gustin) can’t sleep. Iris tells Barry that she wants caviar. He speeds away to get her anything she wants.
After he leaves, Iris takes Barry’s phone and records a message.
The next morning
Cisco calls Barry with some good news. The two of them meet Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson) at ARGUS. The Dominators crashed their ship in Central City during the Invasion Crossover. ARGUS recovered a piece of the Dominator power crystal. It is heavily guarded inside ARGUS.
Lyla tells Barry that she cannot give them the technology. She doesn’t trust him with that much power. They tell her they need it to save Iris. Lyla says she’s sorry, but she won’t let him have it.
14 hours left
The team tries to figure out a way to get into ARGUS to steal the Dominator technology. The security is state of the art. It has a meta-human dampener surrounding the building. Barry and Wally won’t be able to phase through. The team has to find another way.
Barry asks his old villain Leonard Snart, Captain Cold to help him steal the crystal. Of course Snart gives Barry a hard time about needing his help. He won’t do it for true love. He will do it if it involves criminal activity. Snart is amused by the idea of Barry being bad. In the end, Snart says okay, but Barry has to follow his rules.
Back at STAR Labs, everyone is confused. During their time, Snart died saving the Legends. Barry admits he traveled back in time to get Snart. He says he will do anything to save Iris. He promises to put him back.
Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) walks up on Evil Savitar Barry (Gustin) fixing the Savitar suit. She says they are a good team…Barry and Caitlin together again. Evil Barry points out that she’s not longer Caitlin. And he’s not Barry.
Killer Frost asks him if he’s really going to kill Iris. He says if she doesn’t die, he will never be born.
Killer Frost asks if he remembers everything about his life with Iris. Is he ready to end her life?
Savitar says he remembers is being created as disposable. Barry Allen didn’t care about him. So why should he care about Barry’s love? Savitar thinks she is having second thoughts.
Savitar has a flash of a new memory. He knows Barry went back in time for Snart. He tells Killer Frost that they need a strong power source. She asks if she should stop them. He says it doesn’t matter. A speed gun cannot stop him.
Snart studies the layout of ARGUS. He says there are four things to remember; Create the plan; Execute the plan; Expect to the plan to go off the rails; Throw away the plan. Ha!
Tracy walks up with HR (Tom Cavanagh). HR freaks out that Barry has his cowl down. Barry says they are trusting her with their lives, she can know who the Flash is. Tracy is like…oh okay!. And they leave.
Barry asks Joe to take Iris somewhere safe. He says he can’t know where she is. Joe and Wally take Iris to Earth 2 and in the care of Harry Wells.
3 hours and 47 minutes left.
Lyla shows up at ARGUS with Snart as a prisoner. She has to scan an ID and eye scan. They ask her for her password. Lyla can’t give them a password because she’s actually Barry. He used HRs disguise device from Earth19. Barry as Lyla knocks out the guards. Snart and Barry enter the building.
Joe and Iris have a confession session. Then a walk down memory lane that leads to Joe singing and dancing with Iris. Iris gives her engagement ring to Joe…just in case. She asks him to give it back to Barry.
Snart and Barry are in a very secure place with a bunch of cells. Grod is down there. And Barry is pretty sure that’s where Amanda Waller kept the Suicide Squad.
They find a cell with the crystal. Barry has a hard time communicating with Cisco. He tells Cisco what kind of lock is on the door.
Cisco says it requires three different passcodes from three different people. Its supposed to be really hard to crack. Snarts is able to crack it in 37 seconds.
Create the plan. Execute the plan.
Snart and Barry are about to open the door. King Shark looks out of the window of the cell door. King Shark is guarding the crystal.
Expect the Plan to go off the rails.
Barry asks Snart for his gun. He tells Snart to open the door. Snart asks Barry if he watches Shark Week. Barry is confused. Snart tells him that Sharks are cold-blooded. All they have to do is lower the temperature a little and King Shark will go to sleep.
Throw away the plan. Snart slides in a device that will lower the temperature in the cell.
At the lab, HR tells Tracy that he hasn’t always felt like he belonged on the team. He says when she arrived, he understood his purpose. He gets on one knee and asks Tracy to join Team Flash. Tracy says yes.
King Shark falls over and goes to sleep…just like Snart said he would. Snart opens the door and they cautiously walk in. King Shark’s fin raises through the gas…scaring Barry. He asks Snart how long King Shark is supposed to stay asleep. Snart answers that he only likes Shark week…he’s not a marine biologist.
Barry pulls a piece of the crystal out. An alarm goes off and the door starts to close. Barry gets out, but Snart is trapped in the cell…with King Shark. Snart tells Barry to leave him.
Barry radios for Cisco’s help. Cisco tries to hack into the mainframe to open the door.
King Shark wakes up. Snart says if Cisco saves him, he’ll put in a good word with his sister.
Cisco is able to open the door before King Shark can attack. King Shark grabs Snart’s leg. Barry pulls Snart out and yells for Cisco to close the door on King Shark’s arm. The door cuts off the shark’s arm and Snart is free.
Lyla shows up. She saw everything Barry did…including saving Snart’s life. She gives him the dominator technology. Lyla says she doesn’t want Iris to die. She knows he would do the same for her if it were John’s life in danger. Lyla lets them leave.
Barry takes Snart back to where and when he got him. Barry asks if Snart really thought Barry would leave him behind. Snart said he didn’t know. He says Barry has the potential to be ruthless considering his backgroud. Snart says that’s why the get along. Barry sees the good in Snart. Snart sees the bad in Barry.
Snarts tells Barry to stop trying to beat Savitar at his own game. His goodness is Barry’s strength. Snart says The Flash should remain a hero.
Barry tells Snart to take care of himself. Snart’s reply: “no strings on me.” (Oh The Feels!)
Back at STAR Labs, Barry arrives and says they got the dominator tech. Everyone is excited about the news. Barry asks where Iris is. HR blurts out that she’s on Earth 2 with Joe and Wally.
Barry turns around. It’s not Barry. It’s Savitar! He smiles at them and leaves. Cisco yells at Barry that Savitar knows where Iris is
Harry gets the message too. Joe Iris and Wally brace themselves. Savitar arrives. Wally attacks him first. Savitar breaks Wally’s leg to stop him from defending Iris.
Joe shoots at Savitar. Savitar shuts down. Evil Barry steps out of the suit. He tells them to lower their guns or they will kill him.
Joe tries to reason with him as if he were Barry. Savitar says he’s not Barry.
Iris agrees to go with Savitar just so he won’t kill Joe, Wally and Harry. Savitar says he won’t kill them yet. They have to watch her die first.
Savitar takes Iris.
Barry shows up a second late.
53 minutes
The team takes Wally back to STAR labs. He’s upset that he couldn’t stop Savitar. Barry consoles him saying Wally is a great superhero.
Barry and the rest of the team go over their plan to stop Savitar. The bazooka is loaded with the dominator power source. Tracy will by nearby just in case it fails.
Cisco gets ready to leave. HR is brooding because he’s the one who told Savitar where Iris was. He says they have all given him so much. He hasn’t contributed anything. HR feels responsible for Savitar taking Iris.
Cisco says Savitar could have tricked any of them. He asks if HR will stay behind and hold down the fort. He says he’s dependable and they need him. HR tells him, “until next time” and Cisco leaves.
Cisco has a vibe of Killer Frost. It’s the same vibe he’s had all season. Vibe vs. Killer Frost.
Barry catches up with him. Cisco tells him the time has come for him to face Killer Frost. Barry tells him to go save Caitlin.
12:03 AM
The headlines have changed. Tracy and Joe are nearby.
Cisco goes to the woods. He calls for Killer Frost She says in order to secure her God status, she has to kill Caitlin and Cisco. Vibe’s battle with Killer Frost begins.
Savitar shows up. It’s almost time for his ascension. Barry gets the bazooka. He hits Savitar with the beam. Nothing happens.
Savitar says he’s already been in a trap like that. He has the Philosopher’s Stone. Savitar figured out that the stone will prevent him from getting trapped in the Speed Force again.
Savitar picks up Iris. Joe prepares to shoot.
We see Barry run toward them in slow motion.
At the same time, the video that Iris made in the beginning of the episode is playing. She recorded her saying her wedding vows to Barry.
And then it happens.
Savitar kills Iris.
Thoughts…
We knew this was going to happen…we prepared for Barry to save Iris. How can Barry and Team Flash survive this? There has to be a twist! There just has to be!
