Last season of The Flash we saw yet another speedster as the big villain for the entire season. That is, we started in season one with Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, went into Zoom in season two and then last season, season three, we had Savitar, the God of Speed, who ended up being an accidental leftover time remnant of Barry Allen. However, it appears that this season, the fourth in the series, will see a break in that pattern.

According to That Hashtag Show, we’ll see the Fastest Man Alive going up against the Fastest Brain Alive. And by fastest brain we mean Clifford Devoe, a.k.a. The Thinker, who first appeared in All-Flash #12, 1943. In the comics, he’s a failed lawyer who quickly realizes he can use his intellect to unite all the small time crooks in the city to follow him in a united front. With his intelligence, he creates a number of devices, the most prominent among them his “Thinking Cap,” which he can use to project mental force, control other people and have limited telekinesis.

But wait, before you start thinking that Team Flash has no chance against The Thinker, they’re getting a new ally in Ralph DibneyThe Elongated Man, a brilliant detective who has a strong elasticity to his body, similar to Plastic Man or Mr. Fantastic, though he also has an increased sense of smell. That plus his typically superior deductive reasoning makes him the brilliant detective he is. In the comics, he gets his elasticity from a compound he drinks, but it’s likely that in the series he’ll have his powers due to STAR Labs. In his first appearances in The Flash comics, Barry Allen thought he was behind a string of crimes only to discover he was not, which lead to the two of them teaming up. It’s likely they’ll follow a similar storyline here.

You can read the breakdowns for yourself below.

[CLIFFORD DEVOE AKA THE THINKER]–Male, 40s-50, Open Ethnicity. After being struck with dark matter from the particle accelerator explosion, Clifford Devoe became a meta-human with a mega-mind. A Stephen Hawking-esque genius who’s devised an intricate plan to fix all that he deems wrong with humanity. “The Thinker” will embark upon a season long battle with The Flash that pins the “fastest man alive” against the “fastest mind alive.” FRACTIONAL (7/13) ONE SEASON SERIES REGULAR

[RALPH DIBNY AKA ELONGATED MAN]–Male, Mid to late 30s, Open Ethnicity. Think Ryan Reynolds or Chris Pratt, Ralph has the ability to stretch his body to super-human lengths and sizes…however, while resculpting his old body is easy to do, Dibny finds losing the old misguided sense of truth and slobbery, even after joining the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, is a far more difficult task to accomplish. MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR WITH A SERIES REGULAR OPTION FOR NEXT SEASON
