5 Questions #1 with the Soska Sisters!
If Scarlett O’Hara and Freddy Krueger had a baby or two, you’d get the Soska Sisters, also known as The Twisted Twins. Jen and Sylvia Soksa as horror directors are a force to be reckoned with, to say the least. They are unapologetic, sexy and they’re nice. They’re Canadians, they can’t help it.
I really wanted get to know the directors of Dead Hooker In A Trunk, American Mary, See No Evil 2 and the upcoming Vendetta. So I asked about important issues. I got down to the nitty gritty of what makes these ladies tick, in five questions.
1. What is your favorite food?
S: Nokedli or spatzle with paprikash chicken. My grandmother’s recipe is my absolute favourite!
J: Paprika chicken with nokedli. It’s Hungarian and it’s fucking awesome. I grew up eating that stuff. It’s so good.
2. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? (any galaxy or planet, fictional or otherwise)
S: I would be very into a place where all of the characters we’ve had in our films live – there are so many hours and obsession that goes into making each film, I’d like to see them in a formal setting, you know? Like take Jacob Goodnight out on a date since he has so many women issues, go shopping with Mary Mason, maybe take Yumi – the tentacle rape monster from our ABCs of Death 2 segment – out fishing. Just fun stuff like that.
J: I’d want to live in the Marvel Universe. I wasn’t uber popular growing up, so those guys were really like friends to me. I want to live in a world where Daredevil could defend me in court or Tony Stark could try to pick me and my twin up at a fancy party. If I could wake up one morning with super powers, that would be it. I’d just go get a costume and start shouting, “shut up, crime”.
3. Who is you favorite superhero?
S: Deadpool! Omigawd – I’m so happy you asked me that. I love Deadpool. To me, he’s the personification of the internet which means the character can shoot on so many different cylinders at once because of the chaotic mashup that is his psyche. They are shooting the Deadpool movie in Vancouver right now and I’m the happiest girl in the world.
J: Oh! That’s so hard! I love so many of them. I would have to go with Daken. He’s Wolverine’s bad as fuck pansexual son and I love him. He was created by Daniel Way and he’s just this poster child for Machiavelli.
4. If you could make your own Lego set, what would it be?
S: Porn Parody Lego sets. Kind of the same as the other sets, but the little figures have removable costumes and different attachments. I would love to have a Lego Tommy Pistol and Xander Corvus to go on fun Lego adventures.
J: A SAW Lego set would be AWESOME! You could build little death traps and ask your little Lego people if they want to play a game, ha ha!
5. Marry, F**k or Kill? Furiosa, Mary Mason, Seth From See No Evil 2
S: Kill Furiosa because how metal would that be? Fuck Mary Mason because if her and I were in the same room, that shit would go down hard. And marry Seth because you know you would die for you as long as he gets to the door with the raging psychopath first.
J: No contest. Kill Furiosa. Fuck Mary Mason. Marry Seth. You could never just fuck Seth and he’s too tough to kill. He’s a keeper. He’d be so good to you! Mary would be one really scarring evening of mayhem.
