If there were ever a question as to whether the nerds have won, we now have our answer. A major network, ABC, with a major studio, Disney and Marvel, is filming an Inhumans TV series.
The Inhumans. Not even ten years ago, this would have sounded like a joke, but here we are with some of the weirder of Jack Kirby’s canon coming to television. We heard the rest of the casting announcements last week, and now, today, we have our first leaked pictures from set. Truly, this is a right of passage now.
The images show Anson Mount as Black Bolt. The actor is cleanly shaven and wearing a black suit, staring intensely at something. This is our first look at what he’ll look like as the character and what his outfit will look like. We will note that we’re disappointed he doesn’t have the tuning fork on his forehead like his comic counterpart, but this could also be something that they have to add in through CGI.
Perhaps even more exciting than seeing Anson Mount as Black Bolt is seeing the gigantic blue stand in for their one ton teleporting bulldog, Lockjaw. Since the world is short on 2,000 lb dogs, he’ll have to be created using CGI, but it’s nice to see that his stand in is the right size and shape and gives us promise that perhaps we’ll get to see him this same way.
