Entertainment Weekly has given us our first glimpse at Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in their newest movie Passengers.
Passengers is a love story set on a spaceship, which is the overly simplistic version of the plot. The first photo (below) gives us a tiny look at the design and technology of that ship as Lawrence and Pratt look at each other. Pratt is wearing what I can only assume is a spacesuit, maybe trying to convince Lawrence to don the suit in the background. The second photo is a close up of the two stars’ faces, looking out a window or maybe it will be the basis for the movie poster. Really not much to work with.
Based on the synopsis, Pratt and Lawrence will carry the entire movie which, honestly, would get me into the theater no matter the setting. I’m sure I’m not the only one that sees anything either one of them are in. Having both in the same movie is fantastic, with the science fiction setting being being a huge bonus.
On a routine journey through space to a new home, two passengers, sleeping in suspended animation, are awakened 90 years too early when their ship malfunctions. As Jim (Chris Pratt) and Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence) face living the rest of their lives on board, with every luxury they could ever ask for, they begin to fall for each other, unable to deny their intense attraction… until they discover the ship is in grave danger. With the lives of 5000 sleeping passengers at stake, only Jim and Aurora can save them all.
Passengers arrives in theaters December 21, 2016.
