Oh boy! It’s almost time! The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 will be out in theaters November 20, 2015. At that time, we’ll have to say farewell to Katniss Everdeen, Panem and every part of those wonderful books and movies that have obsessed us over the last few years.
In November, we’ll also see if they made a wise choice in breaking the last book of The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins into 2 movies. That is certainly the trend nowadays but I do so hope that they made a good film while obsessing about the bottom line.
Now the trailer for Mockingjay Part 2! The trailer is intense. Although it starts with glimmer of hope at Finnick and Annie’s wedding, it quickly escalates to the fight for Panem. The only way for the rebellion to succeed now is to invade The Capitol and take over. They have District 13’s President Coin and their resources behind them. Now, our reluctant hero must lead her people to freedom from tyranny (yes, that’s very grand but it is what she is doing) but once the rebels are in The Capitol – it becomes another Hunger Games as Finnick points out. President Snow has made it his personal mission to destroy Ms. Everdeen. In the trailer, he slyly says, “Make no mistake… the game isn’t over.”
Oh yes! And Gwendoline Christie! She will be playing Commander Lyme of District 2. District 2 will be touchy since they are so close to The Capitol and are basically Panem’s arsenal.
Oh Katniss. May the odds be ever in your favor.
