The mysteries are only just beginning. We just got our first clip from Blade Runner 2049 and we’re left scratching our heads. This only opens up more questions but gives a promising look into the film’s aesthetic.
We see Officer K (Ryan Gosling) heading into a shelter filled with children. They reach out to him before leading him to the man in charge. He explains their operation of child laborers before asking if K wants to buy. K flashes his badge in response, which causes the man to ramble. He emphasizes that men “bigger than [him]” have tried to shut him down and “they were men at that”.

For one, what the hell does that mean? Who are these men and how were they more of a man than Officer K? How do these men or K visiting tie into the plot of villain Niander Wallace (Jared Leto) mass producing replicants? What sort of clues could K find in a child labor camp? So many questions! And I can’t wait to find out the answers.
