The final trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is titled “Trust” and it oozes enough excitement to get us through (hopefully) to opening day on December 16th.

The 1:34 trailer has has new footage peppered with what we have seen in previous trailers. Much of the new footage focuses on a “charming” K-2SO, the droid voiced by Alan Tudyk. As usual with droids, K-2SO is smart, capable and always ready with a comic zinger. The trailer also shows the camaraderie within the band of rag-tag rebels that Jyn Erso finds herself working with while trying to seize the Death Star plans.

My favorite line (still) has continued to be my favorite because it’s so overdramatic and delivered perfectly by Ben Mendelsohn’s Krennic: “The pow-ahh that we are dealing with here is immeasurable!”

One complaint I have (still): while I embrace the diversity of this cast, because in terms of ethnicity it’s incredibly diverse, I still call Disney out for having just one female in a major role (No, Mon Mothma doesn’t count – unless she turns out to have a lot of screen time). I absolutely celebrate the fact that this movie has a badass female in the lead but all the other principal roles are men. I’m sure that Star Wars will continue along the path of bringing us a wonderful diverse universe, I just wish we could get there a little faster when it comes to gender.

Rouge One: A Star Wars Story: In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
