In a couple of days, Final Fantasy XV fans are in for a new free to download DLC, the Assassin’s Festival. The DLC will be available from August 31st, 2017 until January 31st, 2018, very similar to how the first free DLC (the Moogle Chocobo Festival) was available for a certain amount of time as well.

The DLC will feature gameplay elements from the popular series Assassin’s Creed. As seen in the trailer some of these gameplay elements will include rooftop maneuverability, using an assassin’s blade for a weapon, and the ability to perform the well-known “leap of faith” that finds characters in Assassin’s Creed jumping off high buildings and structures into various things like hay piles and wagons.

According to the trailer description, “mini-games, and a chance to obtain exclusive items, such as the “Medjay Assassin’s Robes” for Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto” will be available during this limited time event that will take place in remodeled version of the city of Lestallum, featuring places to hide, ways to climb up buildings, and a number of other special modifications.

Other fan favorite characters such as Cindy, the car mechanic from Hammerhead, makes an appearance asking for assistance from the main group of characters while new characters are shown as well. An unnamed character appears and seems to be a member of the Empire in Final Fantasy XV and is undoubtedly the main antagonist for the event.

I never thought a crossover event would happen between these two games, but it looks pretty awesome and lots of fans seem really excited to play the newest DLC!
