The Nintendo Direct presentation yesterday was filled with incredible announcements including Dragon Quest Builders 2, Tetris 99, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. With all these announcements it looks like players will be dropping a lot of money in 2019 and honestly, we couldn’t be happier.
Final Fantasy fans got a bit of good news during the presentation. Square Enix revealed that fan-favorite Final Fantasy IX is now available for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. On top of that, Final Fantasy VII will be available on the Nintendo Switch next month on March 26.
While Nintendo’s plans to release the remastered version of the game was announced back in September, the actual release date was unknown. Fans will also see the release of Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! next month for the Switch and PlayStation 4 on March 20. This title is a rework of the 2007 game Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon that was released on the Wii and Nintendo DS. This version will have new unique dungeons, a system to recruit monsters and allies, and the ability to play with friends through local op-op.

Final Fantasy VII is the iconic tale of Cloud and his allies as they battle against the evil Shinra Corporation and the villainous Sephiroth to save the life force of the planet. This game will feature high-definition graphics, as well as auto-save and enemy encounter options. It should be noted that this is the not the Final Fantasy VII Remake that we have all been waiting for, but if you have never played Final Fantasy VII, then you need to pick up this title.
In addition to Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy VII news, other games in the series will be released for consoles this year. This includes Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition, Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster (April 16), and Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age (April 30).
